Welcome! I hope to offer you practical tips and resources that will assist you in managing your non-profit organization.
Why did I begin TheEDeffect? TheEDeffect was born from collaboration with Shahara Wright at the The CEO Effect. After managing a non-profit and serving non-profit start-ups for several years, Shahara suggested that I offer resources and tips for non-profits to serve their particular needs. I readily agreed because I started my consulting practice so that non-profits would have a strong foundation to serve their clients.
After serving in various roles for New Horizon Family Center, including Executive Director, for 10 years, the agency closed in December 2013. I recognized that if a 30-year old organization, with a solid board of directors could close, then a non-profit start-up had little hope of being successful without the right guidance. In short, I never wanted another Executive Director or CEO to experience the pain and loss of closing the doors on an agency that was vital to the community, and telling staff that you could no longer pay them. It was a life-changing decision, and one that still impacts me today.
Non-profit are formed to serve individuals in need. They are businesses focused on charity. The goal is to offer you practical information that will assist you in managing your non-profit, but also serving your clients. What will that information include?
